There are two alternatives to this trip:

The monastery of St. Catherine has been called the oldest working Christian monastery in the world. It lies at the foot of Mount Moses in the heart of South Sinai.

Day Trip:
You will be collected from your hotel and we will leave Dahab at 8 in the morning and drive for 2 hours to visit St. Catherine’s Monastery. We will have the choice of either returning to Dahab to be back around 1 pm or, we can climb Mount Sinai to see the sunset. If we climb Mount Sinai we will be back in Dahab around 9 at night where you will be taken back to your hotel.

Night Trip:
You will be collected from your hotel at around 11 pm. We will be driving for about 2 hours to the monastery and the mountain. We will start to climb the mountain at 01:00 with our guide. We can enjoy looking at the stars while waiting for the sunrise. After the sunrise, we climb down the mountain to visit the monastery of St. Catherine. We will then male our way back to Dahab and transport you back to your hotel at around noon.

Please note that you will need a visa in your passport($15 from Sharm el Sheikh airport). Also you will need good hiking shoes/warm clothing for climbing the mountain. As we are visiting a holy site you will need to have your shoulders and knees covered. Also bring with you drinking water and snacks/lunch, sun cream, money and your camera. You can have the opportunity to ride a camel up to the 700 steps of the mountain for a cost of 85le.
