Itinerary

Pick up from your hotel in Sharm el Sheikh

Pick up from your hotel in Sharm el-sheik will be around 5.00 am depending on your hotel location. You will fly to Aqaba airport where you will be met and assisted in Aqaba airport by your guide and will drive by air-conditioned bus to Petra.

Walk through the Canyon or Siq

We start the tour on foot, though the Siq or the Canyon, a narrow, winding gorge over 1 kilometer in length. The beautiful sandstone formations of Petra were once occupied by the Edomites. One of the reasons why Petra was such an attractive site for the Nabateans is it's virtual hidden behind a narrow and easily defensible canyon known as the Siq.

Visit of Al Khazneh or The great treasury of the Pharaoh

As you come to the end of this beautiful ravine, a very narrow opening offers a peephole to one of the most spectacular sites in Petra - the treasury. Carved out of the side of the sandstone mountain face probably in the first century BC, scholars debate as to its actual function.

The Roman theatre & the Roya tombs

After the visit to the treasury, we will visit the Roman theatre which dates back to the Byzantine era & the Royal tombs. Not a lot is known about the ancient culture of the Nabateans, except that they were excellent engineers with amazing skill and craft. They built water conservation and irrigation systems and carved their homes, temples, and tombs right out of the rocks.

Lunch

Have lunch at the Movenpick hotel in the city center.

Visit of Al Habis fort

Afterward, we continue our tour to the hill of Al-Habis fort which dates back to crusaders' times, for a breathtaking panoramic view of deep gullies and uniquely colored rock formations.

Back to Sharm-el-Sheikh

We will drive back to Aqaba at 6.45 pm where you will have one hour of free time for shopping. Then take your plane back to Sharm el Sheikh arriving after midnight and you will be transferred back to your hotel.
