Itinerary

Day 1

You will be collected from your hotel and taken to Sharm el-sheik Airport for your flight to Luxor. Upon arrival in Luxor, you will be met by your English-speaking tour guide and transferred via air-conditioned vehicle to the West Bank.

The West Bank is known as the city of the dead and is the funerary complex of the Ancient Egyptians. We will visit the Valley of the Kings – the ancient cemetery of the pharaohs of the New Kingdom, hidden in the mountains between the two limestone hills of Gurna. The Valley of the Kings holds 63 registered tombs and 3 more tombs have recently been found.

We will then visit the Hatshepsut Temple. This is a mortuary temple with a unique design as it is the only temple in Egypt built in terrace formation into the cliff face. Hatshepsut was a famous female pharaoh who wore a false beard and all the trappings of male pharaohs in order to claim the throne for herself.

We will then visit the Memnon statues. They are the only remaining statues fronting the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III and show the pharaoh sitting on his throne. The temple itself was destroyed in an earthquake and much of the ruins were used in other building work by other pharaohs.

Lunch in a local restaurant and then you can enjoy an optional felucca ride to Banana Island.
Our last stop of the day is the Karnak Temples, the largest ancient temple complex in Egypt.  Karnak Temple complex is one of the major sites of Egypt and within its bounds, the sacred energies of Ancient Egypt can still be felt. We will also see the Luxor Temple known as the Temple of the Gods.

There will be free time for shopping during the day and you can also experience the following at night (optional):
Sound and light show at Karnak Temple 25GBP
Visit Luxor Temple 20GBP
Visit Luxor Museum 20GBP

If you start the program from Luxor you will spend the night in Iberotel Luxor hotel or equivalent on B&B; basis.

Day 2

Enjoy a hot air balloon ride (optional when starting tour from Luxor). Your day will start early for a 5 am pick-up from your hotel where you will sail towards the West Bank of Luxor by boat. You will have an amazing ride over Luxor to see the sunrise and all the sites as you have never seen them before. Afterward, you will receive a t-shirt and certificate of your ride. The ride takes about 45 minutes and you will then be taken back to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight to Cairo. You will be met at Cairo Airport and transferred in an air-conditioned vehicle to the city.

The first stop will be the Egyptian Museum. You will get to see 165,000 Egyptian artifacts. The priceless treasures of King Tutankhamun are the highlight here. His six gilded coffins dominate the main hall, while his magnificent death mask is the star attraction. You can also visit the Mummies Hall (100le per person).

You can do an optional boat trip along the Nile to see the sights before having lunch in the Hard Rock Café with a Nile view. After lunch, we will go to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. One of the Seven Wonders of the World and still to this day a riddle. A truly unforgettable experience. The sphinx is an enigmatic symbol of Egypt. You will have free time to enter one of the Pyramids(additional cost) if you wish.

At the end of the day, there will be time to go shopping in the markets of Cairo.
